VILLAGE NOTICE: Amendment of West Milton Municipal Code Section 93.30 through 93.35
WEEDS AND GRASS HEIGHT MANDATE
New changes for required notification of weeds and/or high grass.
An annual notice, one time per year, will be published in a newspaper of general circulation within the Municipality and posted on the Village Website notifying all residents of the requirement of this Chapter. If, after the notice is served and a tag is placed on your door to get your yard in compliance with the code, the Village may proceed with bringing the property into compliance. If the Village brings the property into compliance an administrative fee of $250 will be assessed against the owner. Failure to pay those fees within ten (10) days of service will result in the assessment of those fees to Village taxes. A second offense can result in a misdemeanor.
Weeds and Grasses must be kept below 6 inches between May 1st and October 1st (except in specified circumstances). Upon identification of the violation, a notice will be given on behalf of the Village. The owner must comply within five (5) days from receipt of the notice.
